Aircraft inbound to and departing from the North Sound water aerodrome will be provided with a flight information service by the ATS unit at the Beef Island Tower on frequency 118.40 MHz or any other frequency specified as in use by that unit.

VISUAL AIDS TO NAVIGATION

The following visual aids to navigation are provided:

  1. Upon taking-off or landing pilots can use the following to reference  the beginning and end of threshold
  1. Reference point on the beginning of runway 12 is .40 nautical miles NNE/abeam of Malone Bay
  2. Reference point on the beginning of runway 30 is .70 nautical miles NE/abeam of  Gun Creek Bay
  3. Reference point on take-off from runway 08 end of threshold is .40 nautical miles NNW/abeam of Robins Bay
  1. Pilots can also use the passage between Mosquito Island and Little Bay and a heading that is pointing towards Biras Creek Bay to ensure that they are line up with landing area (RWY 12) and vice versa for Runway 30.
